"The Fast and Furious" has come a long way since it premiered in 2001, with the storyline revolving around "street racing and heists". With its mix of high-speed racing and action, the films are highly regarded as Universal Picture's largest franchise, especially with the blockbuster premiere of the eighth movie.
"The Fast and Furious" is reported to be adding a couple of new celebrities for the upcoming eighth installment. Among the most exciting inclusions is Eva Mendes. There is speculation that Eva's character, Monica Fuentes, will have a lot more backstory, as it has been reported that she might get in the way of the romance between Dominic Torreto (Vin Diesel) and Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez).
The new film will also see the return of Kurt Russell as Mr. Nobody. Russell was included in the cast for 'Fast and Furious 7' and reports claim that Mr. Nobody will not be featured in the upcoming movie, but in the possible 'Fast & Furious 9' movie.
As reported earlier by Ecumenical News, Vin Diesel had stated that Mr. Nobody (Russell) is one of his favorite characters in the franchise to date, and the addition of Russell would be a huge advantage for the upcoming film.
Aside from Mendes and Russell, the film has also added MMA fighters Ronda Rousey and Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Rousey was also seen in 'Fast & Furious 7', while it will be the first acting role for Joanna Jedrzejczyk, who is currently the 'UFC Women's Straw weight Champion'.
